Quince Review
About Quince

Quince launched in 2018 as a direct-to-consumer brand with one big idea: luxury materials at non-luxury prices. They skip the warehouses, the wholesalers, and the retail storefronts. Products ship straight from the factory to your door, and that’s how they keep a 700TC Egyptian cotton sheet set under $150.
The brand started with clothing (their $50 Mongolian cashmere sweater got a lot of attention) and expanded into home goods. They now sell everything from linen sheets to organic cotton towels. Their Giza Cotton Sateen line is their premium bedding offering, and it’s the one we looked at.
Quince is based in San Francisco and sells exclusively through their own website. You won’t find these in stores or on Amazon.
The “Is It Real Egyptian Cotton?” Question
Here’s the thing. Quince says their Giza Cotton Sateen sheets are made with 100% Egyptian Giza cotton. That’s a specific claim, and it’s a good one if it’s true. Giza cotton is grown along the Nile and produces some of the longest, finest fibers in the world.
But Quince doesn’t hold the Cotton Egypt Association Pyramid Mark. That’s the only certification that uses DNA testing to verify cotton actually came from Egypt. Without it, you’re relying on the brand’s word.
Does that mean it’s fake? Not necessarily. Plenty of legitimate brands use Egyptian cotton without the Pyramid Mark. The certification process is expensive and time-consuming. But it does mean we can’t independently verify the claim. The sheets do carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which at least confirms they’re free of harmful chemicals.
What You Actually Get

The Giza Cotton Sateen Sheet Set is Quince’s Egyptian cotton offering. Here’s what’s in the box:
A queen set includes a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two standard pillowcases. The fitted sheet has elastic all the way around and accommodates mattresses up to 16 inches deep. It even has “top” and “bottom” labels, which is a nice touch.
The 700 thread count sateen weave gives these a smooth, slightly lustrous finish. They feel silky without being slippery. Multiple reviewers describe them as “hotel-like,” which tracks with what you’d expect from a high-TC sateen.
Price for a queen set is about $150. Quince claims that’s 48% less than comparable retail, and honestly, the math checks out. A 700TC sateen sheet set from a traditional brand would run you $250 to $350 easily.
The sheets come in about 15 colors. Not the biggest selection, but more than enough for most people.
What Buyers Say
On Quince’s own site, the Giza Cotton Sateen set holds a 4.7 rating from over 350 reviews. That’s strong. Buyers praise the softness, the smooth hand feel, and the temperature regulation.
On Trustpilot, Quince as a brand has a 4.5 out of 5 from over 750 reviews. Most of the positive feedback is about customer service and the return policy. The negatives tend to be about clothing items, not bedding.
The BBB tells a different story. Quince has an A+ accreditation but customer reviews average just 1.7 out of 5. Most complaints are about product quality in other categories and return issues. We didn’t find bedding-specific BBB complaints.
On Reddit, Quince gets generally positive buzz. Users mention good value for the price, though some note that certain products feel thinner than expected. The consensus is that for the money, you’re getting a lot.

Who Should Buy Quince?
This brand is for you if:
- You want a luxurious sateen feel without paying luxury prices
- You’re comfortable with a brand that claims Egyptian cotton but doesn’t have Pyramid Mark certification
- You value a generous return policy (365 days is hard to beat)
- You prefer buying direct-to-consumer and don’t need to feel sheets in person first
Skip this if:
- Verified authenticity is your top priority (go with Pure Parima instead)
- You want percale, not sateen (Quince’s Egyptian cotton line is sateen only)
- You need deep pockets over 16 inches (some mattress/topper combos won’t fit)
- You strongly prefer products made in the USA or Egypt
Is Quince Legit?
Proceed with CautionQuince says their Giza Cotton Sateen sheets use 100% Giza cotton from Egypt. The sheets carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which confirms they're free of harmful substances. However, Quince does not hold the Cotton Egypt Association Pyramid Mark, which is the only internationally recognized certification that verifies Egyptian cotton authenticity through DNA testing. We couldn't independently confirm the Egyptian origin of the cotton. The claim is plausible given the pricing and quality, but it's not proven.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Quince Egyptian cotton real?
Quince claims their Giza Cotton Sateen sheets use 100% Egyptian Giza cotton. The sheets are OEKO-TEX certified, which means they've been tested for harmful substances. However, they don't carry the Cotton Egypt Association Pyramid Mark, which is the only certification that verifies Egyptian cotton origin through DNA testing. The claim is plausible but not independently proven.
How much do Quince Giza cotton sheets cost?
A queen Giza Cotton Sateen sheet set costs about $150. Quince claims this represents 48% savings compared to traditional retail pricing of $279. For a 700TC sateen set, that's a genuinely competitive price. Comparable sheets from luxury brands typically run $250 to $350.
Are Quince sheets good quality?
Yes, most buyers report good quality. The Giza Cotton Sateen set holds a 4.7 rating on Quince's website from over 350 reviews. Reviewers consistently mention a smooth, hotel-like feel and good temperature regulation. Some buyers with thinner fabric expectations note the sateen weave is lighter than expected.
Where are Quince sheets made?
Quince sheets are made in China and Cambodia. The company works with factory partners globally and ships direct to consumers to keep costs down. The cotton itself is sourced from Egypt according to Quince, but the weaving and finishing happen overseas.
How does Quince compare to Pure Parima?
Pure Parima wins on authenticity. They hold the Cotton Egypt Association Pyramid Mark, which Quince doesn't have. Pure Parima also uses single-ply yarns at 400TC and 600TC. Quince wins on price by a wide margin, with their 700TC set costing about $150 versus $180+ for Pure Parima. If verified authenticity matters most, go Pure Parima. If value is the priority, Quince delivers.
