Aureon Labs 3/10
"The Marshmallow® - Premium 5000 GSM Mattress Topper" went up on aureonlabs.com on March 21, 2026. Strip the name away and it is a 3 inch slab of blue gel-swirl memory foam in a removable zip cover, shipped rolled and vacuum packed, that takes four to eight hours to expand. At the time of writing (October 28, 2026) a Twin is $99 against a $199 "compare at" price, a Queen is $159 against $319, a King is $189 and a Cal King $229. The compare-at figures are the brand's own claim. The same store sells the same foam as "The Marshmallow®" and again as "Bed Topper" in 2, 3 and 4 inch versions, with the same SKU codes and the same 2,039-character description pasted into all three listings, so the "5000 GSM" product is simply the 3 inch option under a third name.
About that number. GSM is grams per square metre, the unit for fabric weight and fibre fill. Foam is specified in pounds per cubic foot, and 3 inches of ordinary 4 lb per cubic foot memory foam works out at about 4,900 GSM by simple arithmetic, so "nearly 5,000 GSM" is the thickness of a normal foam topper restated in a unit nobody uses for foam. The page calls it "the material standard used in 5-star hotel signature beds, business class aircraft seats, and luxury car bolsters" and says it was developed with "sleep scientists and physical therapists," none of whom are named. The one figure that would settle it, the foam density, is never given. Neither is a weight: the Shopify listing carries a shipping weight of zero for every size, and 5,000 GSM across a Queen would be about 34 pounds of material. The CertiPUR-US and OEKO-TEX claims come with no certificate number and no foam producer's name. And the listing argues with itself. The description says "elastic straps on each corner keep it from sliding"; the how-it-works section on the same page says "no tools, no straps, no setup." The description says "30 nights" to return it; the banner says 90. The hero graphic says "4.8/5 rated by 53,247+ verified customers"; the review widget's own structured data on the same page says 4.6 from 37 reviews.
On the bed it is fine. It is a soft, slow-rebound gel foam, it adds real height, my hips sank in and the foam held, and it sleeps a touch cooler than plain memory foam thanks to the swirl. Reviewers on Aureon's own Loox widget say much the same, and one describes a King that expanded a few centimetres narrower than a King. By feel and by construction it is the Linenspa 3 Inch Gel Memory Foam Topper at #5 below, which costs $89.99 on Amazon and tells you exactly what it is. If a foam topper is what you want, that is the cheaper way to buy this feel. If you clicked because the ad looked like a fluffy hotel pillow top, this is not that product at all: there is no fill, no quilting and no skirt.
Then there is what happens after you pay. The shipping policy says orders ship "from within the United States" through "US fulfillment partners" in 5 to 8 business days with the cost "calculated at checkout"; the product page says "free 3-day shipping"; the FAQ page says free shipping in 7 to 13 business days by DHL or FedEx. The refund policy promises a prepaid UPS label within 90 days; the FAQ page says 30. Support is email only, which the policies state plainly. Trustpilot's one-star reviews, 36% of the 25 on file, describe refunds that took weeks and several emails, an order of two toppers that arrived as one, and a King buyer who says she was told the 30-day refund applied only if the topper was unused. The policies also set up an "Aureon Recovery Club" membership with automatic monthly billing after a 14-day free trial, and warn that a chargeback "may result in" a "permanent ban from future purchases." None of that is a reason to expect your parcel not to arrive. It is a reason to pay by card and keep the box.
Who is Aureon Labs? A Shopify store registered to House of Brands Group LLC, trading as Aureon Labs, with a listed address of 160 W Camino Real, Unit 561, Boca Raton, Florida, which the Better Business Bureau records as PMB 561, a private mailbox at a postal centre. The domain was registered on April 12, 2025 behind a privacy proxy; the first catalogue entries date from October 2025; the BBB opened its file on March 26, 2026 and rates the business B+ with one complaint, citing "length of time business has been operating." The catalogue runs to about 30 items, six of them toppers: the three Marshmallow listings, a latex topper, a gel-swirl topper whose description is Brooklyn Bedding's listing copy word for word, a "Bamboo Dreams" topper, an "OrthoBed" bamboo topper whose description is identical to the Bamboo Dreams text and whose name belongs to a product sold by Home Garden Trends on garden-trend.store (reviewed here), and a "Premium Quilted 1000GSM Luxury Extra Thick Mattress Topper" whose title and photos, down to the image file names, match the West Month listing and a one-product store called vellora-care.store. Pillows, massage guns, a knee brace, a supplement and SkinCeuticals skincare fill out the rest, and the massage guns still carry AliExpress-format SKU strings. The Facebook ad that brought you here runs under the page name "Optimal Health Insiders" and lands on a product URL that returns a 404. That is the picture of a one-mailbox marketing operation that sources finished goods and writes the story afterwards, not of a company that makes anything.
Find on Amazon
Bought the Marshmallow in June after the "5,000 GSM" ad. I was expecting the fluffy pillow top from the photos and got a blue foam slab vacuum-rolled in a box. It's comfortable, honestly, but I could have bought the same thing on Amazon for $90. Emailing to ask what the GSM figure actually measured got me a copy of the product page pasted into the reply.
That's the gap this review is about. The foam is fine; the framing isn't. If you like it, keep it, just know what you bought.
Engineer here. I did the maths on the GSM thing the moment I saw the ad. Three inches of foam at 4 pounds per cubic foot comes out at roughly 4,880 grams per square metre. That is every 3 inch memory foam topper ever made. They took a normal density, multiplied by thickness, and called it a breakthrough. Clever, I'll give them that.
Ordered a King. The box said King. After two days of expanding the foam measured about 74 inches wide. Emailed, got a reply within a day asking for photos with a tape measure, then nothing for nine days. They did eventually send a UPS label and the refund landed three weeks after I dropped it off.
To be fair, mine arrived in four days from a depot in Georgia according to the tracking, no smell, expanded overnight. For $99 in Twin on my son's bunk it's fine. I wouldn't pay $159 for the Queen when the Linenspa is sitting right there.
What is Aureon Labs, though? I bought a knee brace from them last year and now the same site sells mattress toppers, a supplement and SkinCeuticals serum. Same email address for all of it.
It's one Florida LLC with a mailbox address and a Shopify store, selling whatever is being advertised that quarter. Look up the legal name on their contact page.
The Facebook ad I clicked went to a page that said "page not found." I found the product by searching the site myself. Should have taken the hint.
Their own product images have a "Marshmallow Dreams" logo on them. Is that a different company? I searched and can't find a Marshmallow Dreams store that sells this.
I couldn't find one either. One of those files is literally named Other_Brand_4.png in their Shopify data. Whoever made the graphics made them for a different storefront first.
Watch your card. I ended up enrolled in their "Recovery Club" at checkout without noticing, and a monthly charge started after the two week trial. Cancelling meant emailing and waiting. They did cancel it, but the terms say the digital stuff is non-refundable, so that first month was gone.
Honest question, is the Kemet one foam? My wife can't stand the heat off memory foam and I don't want to swap one slab for another.
No foam at all. It's 1200 GSM of fibre fill in a 100% cotton cover, quilted like a hotel pillow top. It breathes like a duvet, not like foam. It is a heavy fill, so it runs warmer than a thin pad like the Parachute, but it never held heat the way the foam slabs in this test did.
The 30 versus 90 day thing is real. The product page says 90 nights. When I emailed on day 41 they pointed me to the FAQ that says 30 days. I pushed back with a screenshot of the product page and they issued the label. Three emails and twelve days to get there.
Mine has a visible body-shaped dip after seven weeks. The page says three year warranty, one of the pictures says five. Email sent, waiting.
I actually like mine. My hip pain is better and it sleeps cooler than the plain memory foam topper I had before. What stung was the price dropping $30 the week after I ordered.
The OrthoBed thing is wild. Same bamboo topper, same wording, on two completely different websites with different prices. I had both tabs open comparing them before I realised it was the same listing.
No phone number. For a company selling $200 products that should be the first thing you check. Everything is email and every email takes a day, so a simple return turns into a two week conversation.
Ordered the Kemet after reading this. Arrived in five days. Only issue was my fitted sheets, needed the 16 inch pocket ones once the topper went on. Otherwise exactly what the ad for the other one was pretending to be.
The "53,247 verified customers" line made me laugh once I scrolled down and the review widget on the same page said 37 reviews. Nobody at that company proofreads their own product page.
I bought the "1000GSM Luxury Extra Thick" one from Aureon, not the Marshmallow. It's identical to the West Month one my sister got, same photos, hers was $40 more. Mine took 16 days and the tracking started overseas, so not everything on that site comes from the US depot.
Returned mine with the prepaid UPS label, no restocking fee, refund in twelve days. So the return policy does work. It's just slow, and you have to chase every step.
Is it worth $99 in Twin over the $89.99 Linenspa? It's basically the same foam with a zip cover. The cover is actually nice, I'll say that. The rest of the page I could do without.
Ordered the Kemet instead after reading the GSM explanation twice. Will report back once it's on the bed.
"Developed with sleep scientists and physical therapists." Names? A clinic? Anything? I emailed to ask. Got the product page back.
