About Weezie

Weezie launched in October 2018, founded by Liz Eichholz, a former creative director at Bustle, and Lindsey Johnson, who runs the company as CEO. The name is a family nickname. They started in a Savannah, Georgia storage unit with two embroidery machines and three employees, and moved to Atlanta as the brand grew.

Today Weezie runs a 40,000 square foot embroidery and fulfillment facility in Atlanta, employs around 55 people, and has a store in Buckhead with an embroidery bar where you can get a towel personalized in two to three days. Inc. reported in August 2026 that revenue had grown 114% over three years to the mid-eight figures. About 70% of orders are personalized. This is a monogram company that sells towels, and that’s a compliment.

For the purposes of this site: Weezie does not claim Egyptian cotton, and it holds independent certification for what it does claim. That makes it one of the easier brands to evaluate.

The Cotton, and What Weezie Doesn’t Say

Weezie describes its towels as 100% organic long-staple cotton, woven in Portugal at a third-generation family mill. The bath towels and bath sheets are 650 GSM, hand towels and washcloths 500 GSM.

The GSM holds up. Weezie lists a shipping weight of 726 grams for a 29 x 58 inch bath towel, which works out to about 670 GSM, and 1,238 grams for a 39 x 70 inch bath sheet, about 700 GSM. That’s a properly mid-heavy towel, heavier than Brooklinen’s Classic and lighter than the 800-plus GSM heavyweights.

What Weezie doesn’t say is where the cotton is grown. Not on the product pages, not in the FAQ, not in the about page. “Long-staple” is a real quality marker (longer fibers, softer and stronger yarn), and Portugal has a long history of weaving excellent terry, but Portugal doesn’t grow cotton. The fiber comes from somewhere, and Weezie isn’t telling you. The “organic” claim is also unsupported by a GOTS certificate; the only certification on the towels is OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which tests for harmful substances rather than farming practices.

Older coverage (including an earlier version of this page) described Weezie as Turkish cotton made in Turkey. That’s wrong for the bath line. The only Weezie product woven in Turkey is the beach towel.

The Personalisation Proposition

Monogramming is central to what Weezie does. It’s not a service bolted onto a towel brand; it’s the reason the brand exists, and it shows in the execution. Embroidery adds $15 per piece and appliqué adds $30, with a range of fonts, thread colors, and piping colors (including Liberty print piping on the Signature line), plus a Custom Studio for family crests, logos, and wedding dates.

Customer reviews consistently describe the stitching as dense and clean, with sharp letterforms, and durable through years of washing. The thread colors match the samples shown online. This is meaningfully better than department store monogramming, and it’s why Weezie shows up on so many wedding registries.

Prices in 2026

This is where the value question gets sharp. Weezie’s Signature bath towel was $58 when the brand launched, $64 in mid-2024, $68 in mid-2025, and $78 in August 2026. Some of that is tariffs on Portuguese goods, which the company has spoken about publicly. Either way, a monogrammed bath towel is now $93, and a matching bath sheet $113.

The Basic line is the same cotton with a hemmed edge instead of piping and rounded corners, at $50 for a bath towel and $70 for a bath sheet. If you don’t care about the piping, that’s a $28 saving per towel for an identical terry.

What Customers Report

Reviews are predominantly positive on quality, softness, and embroidery. Buyers from 2019 and 2020 report towels still performing well in 2025 and 2026, which is meaningful long-term data for a young brand. The most common praise is that the towels get softer with washing and that the hanging loops make them dry faster.

The complaints cluster in three places. Price, above all: at $78 a towel, some buyers feel the quality gap over a $40 Turkish towel is smaller than the price gap. Snags and pulled loops on arrival, reported by a handful of buyers in 2025. And first-wash lint, despite Weezie’s claim that its towels shed up to four times less than average.

Customer service reviews are generally positive, with quick replacements for personalization errors. Weezie has a BBB A+ rating with no complaints on file.

How Weezie Differs From Egyptian Cotton Brands

From a labeling standpoint, Weezie is more transparent than most brands that claim Egyptian cotton. Its GSM is stated and checks out, its manufacturing country is stated, its certification is verifiable, and there’s no origin claim it can’t back. The one gap is the cotton’s growing country.

For buyers who’ve been burned by an unverified “Egyptian cotton” label, Weezie’s honest 650 GSM organic long-staple towel is the safer purchase. Who Should Consider Weezie

Weezie suits buyers who want personalized towels from a brand with honest labeling and real embroidery craft: wedding gifts, registries, housewarmings, or a coordinated bathroom with initials on everything. The quality is genuine and the personalization is the best in the category.

Buyers who won’t use the monogram are paying for a service they don’t need.
