Moon Pod 5/10
The Moon Cloud Mattress Topper went up on moonpod.co in August 2023, five years after the bean bag that made the brand. The pitch is a "zero-gravity" pillow top that takes pressure off hips, shoulders and back. Inside is a blend of tiny memory foam clusters and microfiber, with CertiPUR-US certified foam. That makes it a hybrid, not a fibre cloud topper, and the feel bears that out: it's very soft and it cradles you rather than springing back. At the time of writing, October 28, 2026, a queen is $299 against a $539 "compare at" price and a king is $329 against $629. Those list prices are Moon Pod's own figures; Reviewed.com's launch piece in March 2024 quoted $350 and $400.
On the bed it's genuinely comfortable, and if your problem is a mattress that's too firm, this softens it. The problems are in the spec sheet. Moon Pod doesn't state a fill weight, a cover fabric, or a thickness on the product page. The thickness it has published elsewhere has shrunk: Reviewed.com's March 2024 launch piece described "three inches of premium foam," while Moon Pod's own pain-relief page today says 1.5 inches. It arrives compressed and needs 24 hours to loft. It's spot clean only, "not machine-washable due to its unique foam and fiber blend," which on a $299 bedding item is a real limitation. And there's no skirt. Elastic straps and a non-skid underside hold it to mattresses up to 15 inches; on my bed the straps needed re-seating after every sheet change, and Sleepline's September 2026 review found the bands hard to keep in place on thicker mattresses, with the anti-skid base doing most of the work.
Sizes are the other catch. Queen and King are the only options. No Twin, no Twin XL, no Full, no California King, so it's out for kids' rooms, guest beds, and anyone with a Cal King. The warranty page on moonpod.co covers the Galaxy Midnight Mattress, not the topper, and the listing gives no warranty term. Reviews on the product page average 4.65 from 40 ratings, Google's shopping card shows 4.6 from 78, and the "4.9/5 by 100,000+ happy sleepers" banner on the landing page is a brand-wide claim, not a topper figure.
Who is Moon Pod? A real US company. The privacy policy names Galaxy Relaxation LLC at 7 Lispenard Street, New York, NY 10013, and the brand began as a June 2018 Kickstarter that raised over $1.2 million from more than 5,000 backers for the Moon Pod bean bag. The same store now sells Galaxy Home sheets and pillows and Tumblehouse kids' furniture. Its Facebook Ad Library footprint is small and under its own name: three active ads, two to the topper page and one to a "pain relieving mattress topper" collection. The topper ships free from the US in 2 to 7 days, and returns within 30 days get a prepaid label, free as store credit or with $9.99 deducted for a card refund. Two cautions. The formal refund policy page still says "we're unable to offer a return policy for Moon Pod at this time," wording left over from the Kickstarter era. And the brand's Trustpilot profile sits at 2.3 out of 5 across 418 reviews, with the one-star reviews describing slow email-only support, returns that were refused, and a restocking fee. Most of those are about bean bags, not the topper, but they're the same company and the same support desk.

Side sleeper with hip pain here. The Moon Cloud really did help, I sink in and my hip stops aching. But nobody warned me it can't be washed. My dog got sick on it in week three and I'm now spot cleaning a $299 topper with a sponge. The Kemet one goes in the machine? That alone would have changed my order.
Yes, Kemet's goes straight in the washing machine. Moon Pod's own care page says spot clean only because of the foam and fibre blend. A waterproof protector over it is the workaround if you decide to keep it.
The 3 inch vs 1.5 inch thing bugged me too. Every launch article said three inches. Mine looks closer to two once it lofted up, and it compresses a lot when you lie on it. Comfortable, but not what the photos suggest.
I have a Cal King. Moon Pod doesn't make one. Emailed to ask if the King would stretch and got a "we recommend the King for standard King mattresses only" answer three days later. Ordered the Kemet Cal King for $279.95 instead. Came in five days.
Honest take: it's the most comfortable topper I've owned and I've had four. The straps are the weak point though. I have a 13 inch mattress and I'm re-tucking the corners every time I change the sheets.
Same. The non-skid bottom does more than the straps. A tight fitted sheet is what actually holds it.
Took the return route. Delivery was quick, four days to NJ, but I wanted the refund back on my card instead of store credit, so they took $9.99 off. Not the end of the world, but the ads say free returns.
Does the Kemet one have the same sink-in feel? The Moon Cloud is memory foam clusters so it hugs you. I'm worried a fibre topper will just feel like a thick duvet.
Different feel. Kemet is 1200 GSM of fibre, so it's plush and springy rather than hugging, and it's the deepest pillow top of the group. If you specifically want the memory foam cradle, the Moon Cloud does that better. If you want a thick hotel pillow top under a cotton cover that goes in the wash, Kemet does that better.
I sleep hot and the Moon Cloud made it worse. Foam is foam, even in little clusters. Returned it inside the 30 days, no drama, the label was in my inbox the next morning.
Bought a Moon Pod bean bag in 2019 and it flattened inside a year, so I almost skipped the topper on principle. Glad I read this first. The Trustpilot score matches my experience with their support back then.
Mine arrived rolled up in a bag the size of a sleeping bag. Took a full day to puff up, like the site says. Slight foam smell the first night, gone by the second.
Is the $539 "compare at" price real? I've watched this thing for a year and it's never been more than $350.
It's their own number. When it launched in 2024 the press quoted $350 for a queen. I've never seen $539 anywhere either.
Needed two for the twin beds in our guest room. Moon Pod only does Queen and King, so it was a non-starter. Two Kemet Twins at $199.95 each, arrived in four days.
For what it's worth, the memory foam clusters in this are genuinely good for a bad back. The firm mattress my physio recommended was too much and this took the edge off without going mushy.
The refund policy page on their site literally says they can't offer returns. I nearly closed the tab. Then the FAQ says 30 days. Which one is it? Not a great sign when a company doesn't update its own policy pages.
I had the same confusion. Support told me the FAQ terms apply. Screenshot it before you order.
Thanks for actually looking up the company. Galaxy Relaxation LLC in New York. That's more than most of the toppers in my feed can say.
The 15 inch limit is real. On my 16 inch pillow top the straps barely reached, and it had slid toward the foot of the bed by morning.
Ordered the Kemet after reading this. The Moon Cloud was my second choice but spot clean only was the dealbreaker with two kids in the house.
I kept mine. It's expensive and I agree about the straps, but I've slept better in two months than in the previous two years. Just know what you're buying: a soft foam-cluster topper, not a fluffy cloud.
Does the Kemet fit a 20 inch mattress? Moon Pod said no to mine.
Yes, Kemet's skirt is rated for 8 to 24 inches, so a 20 inch mattress sits inside the range with room to spare. Measure your fitted sheet pocket before you add the topper's loft on top.
